Today, I was again reminded of how very fortunate I am.
A University Hospital Medflight helicopter went down this past weekend killing three medical people on board just after they had safely left their patient at a hospital west of Madison.
I would so often hear that helicopter take off from my hospital room when I was their earlier this year. I would wonder who was on that flight and where it was bound.
In those days I was so afraid that I would never get out of that bed, that room, that place. It seems like a lifetime ago now.
Families of those lifesavers will receive many cards like the ones I have in m basket, but the pilot, doctor, and nurse will themselves never see them.
It is an amazing gift to have all this love and support and still be here reading these cards.
